Why the site exists

pretty-effect.com is the online shop of Pretty Effect, a small Adelaide business selling hair accessories by post within Australia and to New Zealand. The site describes our pieces, their sizes, materials and prices, and lets you send an order request.

Orders

Sending the checkout form is a request, not a contract. A contract forms only when we reply by e-mail confirming the pieces, the postage and the total, and you pay through the secure link in that reply. Until then, either side can walk away. All prices are Australian dollars, and the figure that counts is whatever the site displayed when your form went off.

Using the site properly

Please do not try to break, overload or copy the site in bulk, fire scripted entries at the checkout, or push unlawful or abusive messages through it. We may ignore form submissions that look automated.

Intellectual property

Pretty Effect owns the writing, page design, drawn icons and illustrations here. The photographs are used under the licences listed below. Linking to our pages needs no permission; do ask before reusing our text or drawings elsewhere.

Limits of our liability

We take care that descriptions and sizes are accurate, but small differences in colour between a screen and a real piece are normal, especially with tortoiseshell acetate. So far as the law permits, what Pretty Effect can owe over one order never exceeds what was paid for that order. That cap leaves intact your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which our returns page respects in full.

Governing law

South Australian law applies to everything on this page, and any disagreement about it belongs before the courts of South Australia.

Changes

Now and then this page gets revised; the date under the heading marks the current wording. Each order follows whichever wording stood on its confirmation day.
